I was fortunate to land a job this summer at Viviti a local startup company based out of my hometown Parksville. Viviti a sister company of Bravenet is a free content management and website builder that allows you to create a website easily with no prior programming knowledge. The Job

I was hired on as a software developer and for once that's exactly what I did. No vague job description, no taking out garbage, fixing computers, just programming. The work was divided up into milestones. Each week we would gather around and create tickets for next weeks release. We released a new version every week, sometimes the occasional bi-weekly release. Each ticket contained a task it was sort of like a game. The more tickets you completed the more points you gained.
